Chief Executive Officer
A technology veteran, Turpin comes from a strong leadership background, with over 25+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specializing in Business Strategy & Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Experience. Most recently, Turpin served as Channel Chief for EarthLink, leading all aspects of the company’s indirect distribution channel which included accountability for full profit and loss, sales and revenue growth, and EBITDA contribution for the indirect channel. Prior to EarthLink, Turpin most notably served as Executive in Residence for Kinderhook Industries and for over a decade with XO Communications in varying management roles. Throughout her career, Turpin has been awarded various honors for her leadership and innovation including being named to CRN’s 2015 Channel Chiefs list.
Chief Operating Officer, ZVRS
Prior to assuming his current role, Wagner served in several capacities at ZVRS, including vice president for customer experience, marketing, business video solutions and sales. He was the Executive Director / CEO of several nonprofit organizations serving deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the Tampa Bay area. Through his leadership, Wagner has advocated for equal access for all deaf and hard of hearing individuals locally and nationally. In 2004, He was responsible for the implementation of the Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush as its first chairperson.
A tireless advocate, Wagner served on the board of directors for the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), as President (2012-2016) and as Vice President (2006-2012). During his tenure as NAD President, NAD expanded its education advocacy and equal accessibility in video communication. Since 2006, Wagner has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, where he is currently the Chairman. He also served as President of Florida Association of the Deaf (2003-2007), and is currently on the Board of Directors of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Foundation.
Wagner received his bachelor’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and is pursuing his master’s degree from Colorado State University to be completed in 2017.
Chief Legal Officer, ZVRS
Prior to joining ZVRS, Greg served as the Chief of Disability Rights Office in Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission, administering a wide array of disability rulemaking proceedings and policy matters to ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities, including advancements of relay service and various issues on accessibility of communication technologies. In his early career, Greg served in two capacities, as a private practicing attorney and a financial consultant. Admitted to NY Bar, Greg holds a BA in Government from Gallaudet University and a JD from Hofstra University School of Law. He is President of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Lexington School for the Deaf and Center. Greg was the recipient of the Individual Leadership Award from the Howard County in Maryland. He is known for his leadership role during the Deaf President Now movement at Gallaudet University in 1988 where he was named as ABC’s Person of the Week.
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, ZVRS
Margiotta has specialized in the information technology and telecommunications fields, leading sales, marketing and product management organizations for more than 20 years. Most recently, Margiotta was Group Vice President and led West Region Sales and customer support for Time Warner Cable’s SMB, mid-market and enterprise business segments responsible for over $1B in annual revenue and more than 650 sales professionals from Texas to Hawaii.
Prior to leading the West Region at Time Warner Cable, Margiotta led the Product Management group for XO Communications. Margiotta was also Group Vice President at XO, leading two business units focused on developing and marketing Cloud-based managed services solutions to businesses.
In the mid-1980’s, Margiotta rose through the ranks of AT&T’s Business Sales Division in Texas and was ultimately promoted into executive marketing and product management positions at AT&T’s headquarters in New Jersey. Margiotta has a Master of Science degree in Technology Commercialization from The University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a MBA in Finance from The University of Dallas and a BBA from The University of Texas.
Vice President, Sales Operations, ZVRS
Bain joins the Z family from EarthLink with more than 20 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry. She has held leadership roles in different areas of the telecommunications industry including Operations, Service Delivery, Account Management and Sales Support covering regional and nationwide territories. Bain’s focus at Z is on process development, sales enablement and service delivery.
Vice President, Sales, Purple Communications
As VP of Sales, Bella manages Purple’s nationwide team of sales professionals. Before Purple, Bella was a leading member of Hands On VRS (HOVRS) where he pioneered implementation of Spanish-services to support the Latino community. Prior to that, he served at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont.
Philip W. Bravin
Vice President, Business Development and Outreach, ZVRS
Bravin previously worked at Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD), where he helped pioneer the development of CSD’s video relay service and worked on cutting edge developments in communications technologies for deaf and hard of hearing people. Prior to joining CSD, he was president of Yes You Can, Inc., a consulting organization specializing in enabling people with the latest technological advancements. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of the National Captioning Institute and worked for IBM for nearly 25 years in a variety of technical, management and marketing positions. Bravin holds a bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University and has done graduate work at Union College and the University of Hartford. He served on Gallaudet University Board of Trustees for over 20 years, serving as chairman from 1988–1994. Bravin currently serves on the Board of the Lexington School and Center for the Deaf in New York City.
Executive Services Administrator to the Office of the CEO, ZVRS
Kama has worked in the video relay service industry since 2006. She also holds her NAD Advanced certification and has been working as a professional sign language interpreter since 2001. As the Executive Services Administrator to the Office of the CEO, Kama works closely with Sherri Turpin and the Executive Team. Kama joined the Z family in December of 2013.
Vice President, Operations, Purple Communications
With a professional background in workforce and operations management, Cummings leads Purple’s VRS and Community Operations divisions. Prior to having joined Purple in 2008, Cummings served as Area Vice President for Gentiva Health Services. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice-President at Sun Plus Home Health and Pharmacy.
Vice President, Operations, ZVRS
A passionate and people-centric leader, Killian brings over 25 plus years of diverse experience in telecommunications, retail and fitness industry, specializing in strategic planning, alliances/partnerships, change management, operations, human resources and customer experience. Recently, Killian served as the Senior Account Executive responsible for account management, sales and revenue growth for Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD). Prior to CSD, Killian has served in various leadership roles including but not limited to Senior Vice President and COO of CSD, Vice President of Interpreting Operations and Director of Customer Experience. As a Deaf consumer of VRS and an interpreter herself, Killian is intimately familiar with the customer experience and interpreting process in both video relay services and community interpreting. She served as Vice President of Deaf Women of Texas and currently serves on the advisory board. She received her BS degree at St. Cloud University in Business and Communications and Executive MBA from University of St. Thomas. Killian and her husband Kenny and daughter Skylar reside in Austin, TX.
Vice President, Residential Sales, ZVRS
Tim Rarus comes from four generations of deaf family members. A graduate of Arizona School for the Deaf, he went to Gallaudet University to get his bachelors degree in government. His first job leaving Gallaudet was working for Senator John McCain as a staff assistant and advising the senator on disability and ADA issues.
Tim has enjoyed a long career combining his love for advocacy with business. He worked with Communication Services for the Deaf (CSD) implementing interpreting services in Austin, Texas and eventually he also began running the video relay services before the FCC mandated it. Eventually Tim relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to become vice president of the CSD’s video relay services.
Today Tim is vice president of residential sales for ZVRS and he continues to work to expand video services and access to Deaf people nationwide. Tim lives with his wife Brandi and their four children in Austin, Texas. His three sons are hearing and his daughter, the youngest, is deaf.
Vice President, Product Development and Engineering, ZVRS
Runnels has over 25 years of experience within product development leading initiatives in voice, video, and data communications. She has been with ZVRS nine years as Vice President of Product Development and IT. Runnels leads an awesome team which is responsible for all of the product innovations, feature enhancements, and growing the IT infrastructure as well as maintaining it 7x24x365 days a year. Prior to joining ZVRS, Runnels was Vice President of Research and Development at Paradyne Networks where she led a team of over 200 engineers. Paradyne was an innovator in data communications including DSL technology. She was with AT&T Bell Labs and Paradyne for over 20 years. Runnels is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a degree in Computer Engineering.
