User Registration Database (URD)
In 2013, the FCC issued a Report and Order directing the establishment of TRS User Registration Database (“URD”). It is a centralized database designed to ensure that VRS is only used by eligible users. The FCC requires all VRS companies, including ZVRS, to collect the required information from their customers for it to be verified before registering with the URD. The required information are:
- Full name
- Full residential address
- Existing videophone number
- Last four digits of the SSN
- Date of birth
ZVRS is in the process of collecting the required information from its customers. If you, as a ZVRS customer, have not yet provided the required information, please visit: www.zvrs.com/urd.
It’s very important you provide this information in a timely and accurate manner. Failure to give provide this information could result in you not being eligible to place VRS calls.
ZVRS is committed to ensuring your personal information is protected and held in a confidential manner. We will be required to share your personal information with the FCC’s User Registration Database, but will not be using this information for any reason other than to validate your identity. The last four digit of the SSN will be discharged immediately after undergoing the verification process.
If you do not carry a SSN or have questions, please contact us using the information at the following link.
Our goal is to make this process as painless as possible for you and we greatly appreciate your support with this effort. Once we have validated your identity, you should not be asked by us to validate it again.
If you have any questions or concerns about the FCC requirements for the TRS-URD, you may contact the FCC’s ASL Customer Support Line by calling 844-432-2275 directly on video.
